Alright, people. We have have a little over a month, until the heat of summer greets us with a gentle wave. It's been a rather chilly Texas spring, but I bet summer will come with a vengeance (and a lack of rain). While it's still bearable and pleasant, get your booty on a patio, or at least outside!

Don't you think gingham just screams spring? It makes me want to have a picnic - complete with the tuna salad, and watermelon! Gingham is definitely trending right now, but I have been loving it for a while now. (Thanks mom, haha)

Anyway, when I want to have a picnic in Dallas, my first thought is the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden! Nestled next to White Rock Lake, it has beautiful blooms  and plenty of space - both secluded and out in the open. They have kids' areas, a restaurant, and even outdoor arenas for shows and such. There's something for everyone and every age.

My favorite part? That you can bring in your own food and wine, er, I mean drink. But, yes wine! There are other places that you could easily decide to picnic at, but I like the arboretum, because it it well tended, and I don't have to worry as much about ants, etc.

So what's my number one thing to do this spring? Visit your local arboretum! You'll be spending money that directly benefits your community and will get lots of good pictures. I mean...do it for the instagram ;) Whether you have time to pack a lunch and enjoy it on the lawn, or you want to to get your blood flowing, with a stroll through the garden, hop to it! Our days left with this pretty spring weather are a'fleeting!

Do you have a nearby arboretum or a place you can enjoy, like I do? Any other spots in Dallas that are similar, that I might not know about?
